How to Build Your Own Custom AI Assistant (Without Losing Your Mind)

No tech skills? No problem. Build badass AI assistants in under 15 minutes.

Let’s cut straight to it.

You’ve probably seen the hype about building your own custom AI tools… but the second you open ChatGPT or start Googling, your brain short-circuits from all the options.

What do you build?
How do you even start?
And is this gonna take you hours of fiddling with prompts and praying to the tech gods?

🙅‍♀️ Nope. Not on my watch.

Let me walk you through the exact process I use to turn ideas into custom AI tools in under 15 minutes — even if you’re not a tech wizard.

You’ll go from “no clue where to start” → to “holy sh*t, I made that?” real fast.

🍛 Meet SPICE: The Framework That Does the Heavy Lifting

This is the secret sauce.
The SPICE prompt framework is part of my Knowledge to Revenue (K2R) system — designed to help you stop sitting on valuable IP and start turning it into usable tools.

Here’s what it stands for:

  • S – Setup (What the tool does)

  • P – Persona (Who the AI is acting as)

  • I – Instructions (Step-by-step guidance)

  • C – Context (Extra background to help)

  • E – End User (Who’s using the tool)

Fill those 5 things in once — and boom. You've now got a custom prompt that builds a tool just for you.

🛠️ Real Example: Social Media Content from Transcripts

Let’s say you’ve got transcripts from coaching calls, client sessions, or trainings.

You know there are juicy content ideas buried in there…
But sifting through all that text?
Total energy vampire.

So here's what I built:

🎯 A custom AI assistant that reads my transcript and turns it into 15 attention-grabbing social media post ideas — complete with hooks and captions.

Wanna know how I did it?

🧩 Step 1: Fill In the SPICE Form (Linked in the video)

The link's under my YouTube video, but here's what I entered:

✅ Setup

This tool helps the user create a set of social media post ideas based on the transcript of a conversation.

✅ Persona

Act as an experienced social media marketing professional who writes killer hooks.
You're down-to-earth, straight-talking, fun, and use simple language.

✅ Instructions

Step-by-step:

  1. Ask the user to paste in their transcript

  2. Generate 5 social post ideas

  3. Ask the user to pick which ones they like

  4. Generate 15 full posts based on their picks (hooks, captions — the works)

✅ Context

Make a mix of business + personal post ideas.
Keep the hooks emotive, curiosity-led, and punchy as hell.

✅ End User

Business owners, coaches, and trainers — most of whom aren’t pro marketers.
Ask one question at a time to avoid overwhelm.

Done.

🧠 Step 2: Copy Your Custom Prompt

Once you fill out the form, it emails you a full prompt ready to go.

No guesswork.
No trial-and-error.

Just copy → paste → build.

💻 Step 3: Paste It Into ChatGPT and Create Your Tool

In ChatGPT (Pro version), click:

👉 Explore GPTs → My GPTs → Create a GPT

Give your tool a name (like “Transcript to Social Ideas”)
Add a quick description
Paste in your SPICE prompt as the instructions
Set the conversation starter (I used “Paste your transcript”)
Click Create

And boom — it’s live.

You can set it to private, share via link, or make it public on the GPT Store.

🎉 Step 4: Upload a Transcript and Watch the Magic Happen

Here’s what mine did with a 45-minute transcript:

✅ Gave me 5 post ideas to pick from
✅ Turned them into 15 full content pieces
✅ Wrote hooks, captions, even helped me visualize what to post

Stuff like:

“The Math of Minutes Saved: 2 minutes might not sound like much — until you repeat it 100 times.”

Or:

“I never touch spreadsheets anymore. What if your content tracked itself while you slept?”

🔥 Straight-up bangers, pulled from real client convos.

Why This Works So Well (Hint: It’s the K2R Magic)

If you’re already having conversations with clients, delivering trainings, or explaining your process in voice notes — you’ve already done the work.

All that insight is just sitting there, waiting to be turned into:

  • Offers

  • Content

  • Products

  • Tools

That’s what the Knowledge to Revenue process is all about:
Taking what you already know → packaging it into assets that save time or make money.

This SPICE-based tool is one of those assets.

Final Thoughts (Before You Overthink It)

You don’t need to be a prompt engineer.
You don’t need to be “good at tech.”
You just need to know what you want your tool to do — and SPICE will do the rest.

There are endless ways you can use this approach:

🟢 Turn coaching notes into workbooks
🟢 Turn webinars into lead magnets
🟢 Turn discovery calls into offer insights
🟢 Turn internal SOPs into training bots

This is how we multiply ourselves — without burning out or hiring a huge team.
