Ever shared your screen and instantly regretted it?
Maybe it was a Zoom call.
Or a recorded tutorial.
Or you were filming a walkthrough for your course or clients…
…and then boom — your revenue numbers, client names, or half-written landing page copy were just there, for everyone to see. 🙈
Let’s not do that again.
Here’s the easiest way to blur out anything on your screen — live or recorded — without editing a single frame afterward.
Safe Screenshare is a slick little browser plugin that lets you blur any part of your screen before you hit record or go live.
It’s made by one of my fave developers (so I trust it), and it’s designed for people like us — content creators, course builders, service providers — who are constantly screen-sharing and don’t have time to mess around in Final Cut.
Let me give you the quick tour 👇
Say you’re about to show off a landing page or your client portal.
Click the Safe Screenshare icon in your browser toolbar.
If you’ve used it before on this page?
It’ll remember your blur settings. 👏
That’s right — no need to re-do your blurs every time. It saves the layout (without saving any actual data — no privacy worries).
Once it’s open, you’ll see a toolbar at the bottom of your screen.
Use the Click to Blur option to pick exactly what you want hidden.
Hover around the screen — you’ll see a red box appear.
Click where you want the blur to go.
Need to blur a whole section? Hover just outside the area and a bigger red box shows up. One click, job done.
Want it soft and subtle? Or full CIA blackout mode?
Use the blur intensity slider to dial it up or down.
You can tweak each blurred area individually until it’s juuust right.
There’s also a “blur area” tool that lets you draw a box anywhere you want — like a screenshot annotation tool, but with built-in blur.
Perfect if you need to hide a weird popup or just a random bit of sensitive info.
The magic of Safe Screenshare is that it remembers your settings per page.
You revisit that same dashboard or client file next week?
Your blur zones are still there. Like a loyal little privacy guard dog.
Want to remove them?
Click “Clear All Blurs” and you’re back to normal.
Safe Screenshare saves you from:
❌ Exporting videos
❌ Loading into editing software
❌ Pixelating things manually
❌ Re-uploading
❌ Screaming
It’s a dead-simple way to protect confidential info before you hit record — so your future self doesn’t have to fix it later.
It’s great on live sessions too. Blurring as you share with a live audience.
If you're sharing your screen for tutorials, coaching, walkthroughs, or client work…
✅ Use Safe Screenshare to blur anything you don’t want people to see
✅ Set it once — it remembers your settings per page
✅ Tweak the blur strength, draw custom boxes, and clear it all with one click
It's one of those “why doesn’t everyone know about this?” tools.
Now you do. 😉

But honestly? Go try this tool first. Your future videos will thank you.
