And whether you love social media or loathe it, understanding what works makes life a hell of a lot easier.<div class="iframe-wrapper"><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/UXoG_4j3Rbw?color=white" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="true"></iframe></div><hr><h2 id="01678443-52f6-4203-8701-cf979f10e5c4" data-toc-id="01678443-52f6-4203-8701-cf979f10e5c4">Why I Review My LinkedIn Content Regularly</h2>Right now, LinkedIn is my main platform of choice.Yes, I’m also on Facebook. Yes, I get leads from YouTube (even with a tiny audience over there). But LinkedIn is where I spend most of my marketing energy.It’s not about vanity metrics like follower numbers — it’s about visibility with the right people. The more people in your target audience who see your stuff, the more likely someone will go:<blockquote>“Ooh, I need a bit of that in my life.”</blockquote>So I regularly review which posts have performed best — and more importantly, why.<hr><h2 id="ff589450-1b8c-48e7-98d9-20b7216e3838" data-toc-id="ff589450-1b8c-48e7-98d9-20b7216e3838">What Makes a Post Perform Well?</h2>Let me show you a few recent examples from my LinkedIn feed and break down why they worked.<h3 id="ed50c1c9-dace-4801-935c-f10f5e697f1c" data-toc-id="ed50c1c9-dace-4801-935c-f10f5e697f1c">1. The Big Number &amp; The Bold Statement</h3><blockquote>“Just ONE conversation with Vicki added £75,000 to my bottom line — and I’m over the f***** moon.”*</blockquote>Big number. Intriguing headline. Bit of swearing (tastefully censored). And most importantly — a story.This post worked because:<ul><li>It promises a clear transformation.</li><li>It uses curiosity (“How the f*** did he do that?”).</li><li>It’s personal and real (not salesy fluff).</li><li>And the photo featured me — because faces stop the scroll.</li></ul>Personal brand content still wins on LinkedIn. People want to see you.<hr><h3 id="d1fb16d6-bcc9-4347-a8f9-d40db8f1e5e4" data-toc-id="d1fb16d6-bcc9-4347-a8f9-d40db8f1e5e4">2. The Rhyming Hook &amp; The Relatable Pain</h3><blockquote>“Are you a business owner with your head in your hands, stressed out trying to keep up with technology’s demands?”</blockquote>That’s the opening line of a brilliant rap my mate Mike wrote for me.This post worked because:<ul><li>It speaks directly to my audience’s pain.</li><li>It’s creative and different.</li><li>The video helped people get a feel for me, my vibe, and how I help.</li></ul>Videos perform really well on LinkedIn — especially if you’re in them.<hr><h3 id="06365dc6-8a88-47e2-9e70-e0457d3d75bf" data-toc-id="06365dc6-8a88-47e2-9e70-e0457d3d75bf">3. The Time-Sensitive Hype Post</h3><blockquote>“TODAY’S THE DAY 🚨 It has come around FAST AS F**!”*</blockquote>This was a post promoting my masterclass on the day it was happening.Why it worked:<ul><li>Capital letters and emojis grabbed attention.</li><li>It created urgency and excitement.</li><li>The image (a simple Canva graphic) helped stop the scroll.</li></ul>Reminder: Your headline (or first line) needs to work hard. People are scrolling fast.<hr><h3 id="5b0532e9-ad2b-470c-8863-d1600f6d39e9" data-toc-id="5b0532e9-ad2b-470c-8863-d1600f6d39e9">4. The Stat Attack</h3><blockquote>“The hype around digital courses isn’t just another trend. The global e-learning market is growing 8.2% annually.”</blockquote>People love a good stat — especially if it confirms their interest in doing what you do.This post worked because:<ul><li>Stats = authority.</li><li>It reassures people that online learning is a growing space.</li><li>It positions me as someone in-the-know.</li></ul><hr><h2 id="c14f2d1d-5035-4e42-b255-22205fb0ff34" data-toc-id="c14f2d1d-5035-4e42-b255-22205fb0ff34">The Patterns I See (Over and Over Again)</h2>→ Strong first lines (headlines, stats, or questions) → Personal stories and behind-the-scenes stuff → Images or videos featuring me → Talking about client wins or problems I help solve → Swearing (optional – works for my audience, might not for yours) → Relevance to my audience's real-life challenges<hr><h2 id="925dbab2-a3a0-4c9a-a3f4-33c1d25b374c" data-toc-id="925dbab2-a3a0-4c9a-a3f4-33c1d25b374c">Final Thought: Marketing Isn't About Being Popular.
