Personal training · Mansfield
You don't need to live in the gym. You need something you'll actually do.
I'm Josh. I help normal people lose weight, get stronger, feel fitter and stop starting again every few months. No pretending your life revolves around chicken, rice and the gym. We'll build something that works around your actual life.
Vertical 4:5 portrait. Dark background, black training kit with no gym branding. Blue light from one side, warm amber from the other. Relaxed expression — confident, not “angry PT”.
For normal people
Work. Kids. Stress. Crap weeks. A social life. I know all of that exists.
Most people already know they should move more and eat better. The hard bit is making it work when you've got an actual life going on.
That's where I come in. I'll give you the training, the nutrition support and the accountability — but I'm not here to force my goals onto you. If you want to lose weight, brilliant. Get stronger? Great. Feel better and stop getting knackered doing everyday stuff? That's a proper goal too.
What we'll work on
Coaching built around you. Not my ego.
1-to-1 personal training
Proper coaching, not just someone standing there counting reps. We'll train towards what matters to you, at a level that makes sense for where you're at now.
Nutrition that works in real life
You probably know which foods are “good for you”. The question is how you make that work consistently. We'll build solid foundations first, then tighten things up when your goal actually requires it.
Accountability when your head goes
Progress isn't perfectly linear. Your weight might jump. Work might kick off. You might get injured. My job is to stop one bad week turning into three months of doing nothing.
“I care about you more than I care about a selfish result for me.”
How I coach
Sometimes we push. Sometimes we don't.
The goal isn't to beast you into the floor because it makes me look like a good PT. It's to understand where you're at, what you want, and what you can realistically execute.
Start where you actually are
Not where Instagram says you should be. We look at your goals, routine and what currently gets in the way.
Get the foundations right
Training, food and basic habits that you can repeat without having to become a completely different person.
Push when you're ready
Want to take things up a level? Good. We'll tighten the boundaries, increase what's needed and go after it properly.
Adjust when life punches you in the face
Injury, stress, work — sometimes pushing harder is the stupid option. We adapt without throwing the whole thing away.
4:5 or 3:4 candid shot of Josh coaching a client mid-session. Capture conversation or instruction rather than a staged exercise pose. Keep other gym branding out of frame.
Vertical portrait, ideally outside or somewhere relaxed. Training clothes are fine, but no crossed-arms “fitness guru” cliché. Could include his dog if it feels natural.
A bit about me
I didn't grow up dreaming of becoming a PT.
I actually wanted to be a police dog handler.
Fitness, though, has pretty much always been part of my life. I've done football, rugby, swimming, athletics and, most importantly, boxing. I earned an England Boxing scholarship and did my PT qualifications alongside my training.
Boxing shaped a lot of how I coach now. One of the biggest things I learned was that a good coach doesn't just bark instructions at you. They get you thinking, help you understand what you're doing and adapt the coaching to the person in front of them.
I'm also ridiculously competitive. Tell me I can't do something and there's a fair chance I'll become obsessed with proving you wrong. But your training isn't about what I want. It's about getting you where you want to go.
Are we a good fit?
I'll support you.
I won't bullshit you.
We'll probably get on if...
- You want to make a change but need some direction.
- You want accountability rather than another quick fix.
- You want coaching that works around real life.
- You're willing to meet me halfway and actually have a go.
We probably won't if...
- You want results without changing anything.
- You want to moan about the same problem forever but never act on it.
- You want someone to tell you you're smashing it when you're not.
- You're looking for a magic meal plan to fix everything by next Friday.
Ready when you are
You don't need to be fit before you start. That's sort of the point.
If you're fed up with starting again, let's have a chat about where you're at, what you want to change and whether I'm the right person to help you do it.
