Personal financial advice

Money is a tool. Let’s make yours work towards the life you want.

You do not need to have it all figured out before speaking to a financial adviser. Tell me where you are, what is worrying you and what you would like life to look like. We can work from there.

No pretending you understand something when you do not. No judgement. Just an open conversation about where you are now.

Financial advice without making you feel daft for asking. Sometimes you know something needs sorting. You just need someone outside the situation to help you see what comes next.
Start with real life

You do not need a financial product. You need to know what you are trying to achieve.

Financial planning starts with your life, not a spreadsheet.

01

“I should probably have thought about my pension by now.”

Maybe retirement has suddenly stopped feeling like something miles away. You want to know whether you are doing enough and what needs to change.

02

“I know I should be saving, but what for and where?”

Before deciding where money should go, we get clear on what the money is actually for and the goals you want it to support.

03

“Life has changed and I need to know what I can afford.”

A redundancy, separation, career change, inheritance or another major shift can quickly make old plans irrelevant. Sometimes clarity is the most useful first step.

04

“I have money sitting there. Is it doing what it should?”

We can look at the bigger picture, the purpose of the money and whether your current arrangements still fit your plans.

05

“I run a business and my own finances keep getting pushed down the list.”

I know that feeling. When you are busy running the thing, planning for yourself can be surprisingly easy to neglect.

Who I help

Real people. Real lives. Real decisions to make.

I enjoy working with people who want to understand their position, make good decisions and actually engage with their financial plan.

Women navigating change

When life moves, your financial plan may need to move with it.

I particularly enjoy helping women who have reached a point where something has changed and they want to feel more confident about what happens next.

  • Separation or divorce
  • A career change
  • Redundancy or a new opportunity
  • Taking more control of your own finances
  • Finally deciding to sort the pension out

Families and vulnerability

Sometimes planning for the people you love needs a little more thought.

Financial and legacy planning can become more involved when somebody you care about may be vulnerable, has additional needs or might need extra protection around how money reaches them.

Those conversations need more than technical knowledge. They need care, patience and the right professional team around the family.

What to expect

We start with where you are. Not where you think you should be.

You do not need to arrive with all the answers. That is rather the point of having the conversation.

STEP 01

What has brought you here?

We talk about what is happening in your life, what feels uncertain and what you want to change.

STEP 02

What are you working towards?

Retirement, more security, supporting family, making a change at work or simply knowing you are heading in the right direction. The goal comes first.

STEP 03

Build the plan around it.

Once we understand the destination, we can look at the sensible steps, priorities and financial planning needed to move towards it.

A bit about me

I know what it feels like to be the person running the business and putting yourself last.

Before moving into financial advice, I spent 14 years building a business from the kitchen table with my husband, Craig.

I know the reality of running a business, raising a family, dealing with the unexpected and being so busy getting on with life that your own planning can quietly slip down the list.

Eventually I made a major career change myself. That experience is part of what I bring to conversations now.

Yes, the technical side matters. But I am a people person first. I want to understand your goals, your objectives and what money actually needs to make possible for you.

My job is to keep the conversation understandable and help you make sense of the next step.

A few things worth saying

You do not have to be wealthy before you are allowed to talk about money.

“Do I need lots of money before speaking to an adviser?”

No. Sometimes the useful conversation is about getting the basics right first. It starts with understanding where you are and what you are trying to achieve.

“What if I am not confident with finance?”

That is completely fine. You should not need to learn a new language before asking for help with your own money. I keep things as clear and straightforward as I can.

“What if you are not the right person to help me?”

I will tell you. If what you need sits outside what I can properly help with, I would rather point you towards someone better suited than pretend otherwise.

“Is this all about investments?”

No. The conversation starts with your goals and your life. Financial arrangements only make sense when we know what you need them to do for you.

Start with a conversation

You do not have to sort everything out before you speak to me.

In fact, if you are thinking, “I know I need to do something, I just do not know what,” that is a perfectly good place to start.
